A family practice, proudly continuing a legacy
Our story began over 40 years ago when Patrick Hourigan founded P B Hourigan & Co. Through his dedication and personal approach, Patrick built lasting relationships with local and nationwide clients, many of whom became friends as well as valued clients.
In 2023, Patrick’s daughter Lorna rejoined the family practice, bringing experience gained at a large accountancy practice, where she completed her ACCA professional qualifications.
Following Patrick’s sad passing in August 2026, Lorna established Hourigan Accounting Limited to carry forward the family’s work. Today, we proudly continue his legacy, building on the relationships and values at the heart of the original practice while developing our services for the future.
We believe good accountancy starts with getting to know you and your business. Our friendly team provides practical support, clear advice and a personal service, whether you have been with us for many years or are joining us for the first time.
Our clients work across a wide range of industries, including building and construction, carpentry, electrical and plumbing services, events and hospitality, IT and business consultancy, app development, engineering and surveying.

Lorna Hourigan

Lorna is Patrick’s youngest daughter and is stepping into Patrick’s shoes! She originally enjoyed working in the world of wedding dresses and design but re-trained in her mid twenties studying her full AAT qualification and worked in the family firm from 2017-2021. To extend her knowledge she worked in another practice whilst completing her ACCA studies and qualified in 2023 and returned to the family firm soon after.
Lorna’s tenacity and commitment to growing and expanding her skillset reflects in the service she delivers. She prides herself on a friendly, professional service and is keen to build long lasting relationships with her clients.
Lorna’s constant desire to learn new things doesn’t stop at accounting, she also trained in floristry and did freelance work for wedding florists. She loves the creative industries!
